Who is McCormack-Payton?

Since our beginning in 1929 McCormack-Payton Storage & Moving Company has been based on a foundation of quality service. With origins in Kansas City, Missouri, McCormack-Payton started out as a small local moving company. In 1948, along with ten other selected moving and storage companies, McCormack-Payton helped form what was known as Atlas Van Service. Now based in Evansville, Indiana, Atlas Van Lines has a network of more than 400 affiliated domestic agents with offices in the United States.

In early 1986, McCormack-Payton Storage & Moving Company of Wichita began operations as an Atlas agent and a branch office to the Kansas City operations. Our Wichita facility has over 14,000 square feet, devoted to containerized storage and general offices with an on-site 70 foot platform scale for weighing all shipments.

In 1998, McCormack-Payton Storage & Moving Company relocated our main office and operations to a newly constructed facility to handle our continued growth and customer needs. Our state-of-the-art facility has a computerized 70 foot above ground weight scale, as well as 70,000 square feet of warehouse space that includes 6,500 square feet to accommodate the administrative offices.

McCormack-Payton Storage and Moving Company has earned numerous quality awards from Atlas Van Lines. Every year from 1997 through 2005 we have been awarded the prestigious Milton M. Hill Quality Service Award. This award represents a commendation of the highest level to all our departments including our drivers, operations, sales and management.

A significant compliment to our Operations Department and to our drivers. The cumulative records of all our drivers, not just a select few determine this award. It's only awarded to the top performing agents as determined by their customers.

In 1993, Atlas Van Lines instituted a quality control program entitled World Class Commitment. The program defines a set of standards with which all Atlas agents must comply. We at McCormack-Payton consider it essential that we are in compliance and we monitor our rating closely to insure that we always exceed these standards as well as our customers’ expectations.
